3D & Interactive Design
A collection of my 3D and interactive design projects.
Interactive Narrative
Cat in Da Way – My “breakout” Visual Novel, a short and sweet little game that has the player character interacting with a grouchy little cat in humorous ways. Put together in Unreal Engine 5, drawn with Clip Studio Paint, and borrowing music from Geoff Harvey on Pixabay, Cat in Da Way has five main endings plus a secret goofy sixth ending that is sure to leave a smile on your face. Several of the images in the gallery below move, so click on them and watch the silly little cat come to life!
Locke’s Keep
Locke’s Keep is an interactive environment focused on building and maintaining audience tension while wandering through a strange, liminal dungeon far beneath the Earth’s surface.
For this group project I was the project manager and lead texture artist. My primary duties were to fix UVs and create new and polish other textures. I did some animation and modeling as it was needed, but my main focus for this project was textures and timelines.
A candle I sculpted and textured to go on the chandeliers in the throne room. Modeled in maya, textured in Substance Painter.
Cave walls and stalactites and stalagmites modeled and textured by me. Arched doorway modeled by Owen Hudson, textured by me, torch and fire particles modeled and textured by Jayden Robinson. Modeled in maya, textured in Substance Painter, rendered in Unreal Engine 5.6.1.
Hand modeled by Jayden Robinson, animated by Jonah Speck, textured by me. Modeled in maya, textured in Substance Painter, animated in Unreal Engine 5.6.1.
An orthographic render of the cave assets I modeled in Maya and textured in Substance Painter.
Stone ceiling texture created in Substance Painter.
A tiled brick texture I created in Substance Painter to go on the floor and wall.
A gif of the hand grabbing animation I finished in Unreal Engine. Rig and first pass animation by Jonah Speck in Unreal Engine.
The chandelier I textured in Substance Painter. First pass modeling by Jonah Speck in blender, finalized model done by Madison Masek in Maya.
A spiral staircase I UV unwrapped in Maya and textured in Substance Painter. Model by Jayden Robinson in Maya.
